Irish Whiskey
In honor of this past St. Patrick’s Day, we are trying a whole flight of Tullamore Dew; the standard green label, the 12 year, the 15 year, and the 18 year. These are all made by William Grant & Sons at the old Tullamore Distillery. The green label, 12 year, and 15 year are bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) while the 18 year is bottled at 41.3% ABV (82.6 proof). The bottles retail at $28, $50, $65, and $100 respectively. Listen below to hear more about these whiskeys and our opinions as we try it, or you can see a quick breakdown by going to our Reviews page.
We also try a cocktail this episode, a Shamrock Sour made with Tullamore Dew green label. You can find the recipe on our Cocktails page.
Afterwards we chat about the history of St. Patrick’s Day, and some of our favorite traditions during the holiday. At the end we touch quickly on March Madness. We give our hearty congratulations to UMBC for being the first 16 seed in history to beat a 1 seed, as we all throw our brackets in the trash!
Thanks for listening and we hope you tune in next week.
This week your hosts Jason, Marissa, Tim, and Mike.
