Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
This week we are trying Henry McKenna 10 Year Aged Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This bourbon is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof), retails at $30 a bottle, and is made by Heaven Hill. Listen below to hear more about this bourbon and our opinions as we try it, or you can see a quick breakdown by going to our Reviews page.
Henry McKenna 10 Year Single Barrel is labelled Bottled in Bond, which means it meets the following requirements. The whiskey must be the product of one distillation season and one distiller at a single distillery. Then aged for at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse under U.S. government supervision, and must be bottled at exactly 100 proof. Additionally, the Bottled in Bond label must clearly identify the distillery where it was distilled and where it was bottled, if different.
Afterwards we play a new game, which Marissa is hosting, called “Cask Mates, How Well Do You Know America”. Recently Jason heard that the majority of American high schoolers wouldn’t be able to pass the US Citizenship test. This is the test that future immigrants are required to complete before being granted their citizenship. We put that to the challenge in this episode as we team up and see how we do with some of the same questions.
Thanks for listening and we hope you tune in next week.
This week your hosts are Jason, Marissa, Anthony, Amber, and Mike.
